"If you want to know where the future of Freemasonry will grow and prosper it's simple: In your heart, in my heart and in the hearts of those who follow it"
Conrad Hahn
King Edward VII Lodge was consecrated in October 1907 and meet at Howard Hall, Wigmore. We meet eight times a year, have a meal after the meeting, and the bar is always open!
We represent a varied cross-section of society, covering different careers, social standings, and perspectives coming together to support each other and make a positive contribution to the local community and charities.

Mission Statement
We are a unique members’ organisation that has thrived for over 300 years. Having no political or religious affiliations, we comprise members of all ages, races, religions, cultures and backgrounds. We meet in our individual Lodges throughout the country where we have ceremonial traditions which encourage us both to be more tolerant and respectful and actively to fulfil our civic and charitable responsibilities; we also make time to eat, drink and meet together, and form lifelong friendships.
To attract those from all backgrounds and walks of life, enabling them to develop into more thoughtful and confident people. To inspire and challenge them to practise the core values we celebrate – Integrity, Friendship, Respect, Service– in their private and public lives. To cement our reputation as a force for good in our communities and society at large and as a thriving organisation that people aspire to join.
Over the next 7 years, we will enhance our reputation as a thriving organisation that people aspire to join and broaden our membership across all age groups.
As Freemasons, we uphold four core principles that guide us throughout life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service. These values remain just as essential in today’s uncertain world as they have always been. We bring them to life by providing a framework that supports personal growth, fosters lasting friendships, and encourages meaningful contributions to society.
Through the ceremonies and rituals practiced in our meetings, members are able to internalize important lessons and apply them in their daily lives. At our heart, we strive to “make good men better.”

Instead of shaping stone, today’s Freemasons shape themselves, using membership as a framework for developing integrity and character.

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest social organisations, independent of any ideology. It welcomes people of all faiths and political beliefs, creating a shared space where lifelong friendships are formed.

With a membership exceeding 150,000 individuals across the UK, Freemasonry actively bridges societal divides, welcoming people from all communities irrespective of race, religion, or perceived differences.

Whether members are participating in events, fundraising for charity, or volunteering for community organizations, they consistently make valuable contributions by donating their time, resources, and skills.
Our doors are open to people of all races and faiths. While—following the traditions of the ancient stonemasons—lodges under the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) are for men, Freemasonry is not exclusive to men. Two female Grand Lodges operate alongside UGLE, and women Freemasons have been meeting for over a century. They frequently collaborate with us on charitable and community initiatives.
